CAMDEN WELCOMES REFUGEES
7-9pm, Monday 14 March 2016
Venue change: Council Chamber, Camden Town Hall, Judd Street, WC1H 9JE

Join Camden Citizens as we call for more Syrian refugee families to be resettled in our borough.

This local event will bring together people from across Camden and the surrounding area to show their support for welcoming more refugees and discuss how we can make it happen.

We will hear from local and national leaders, volunteers and refugees themselves about the urgent need to protect families fleeing Syria’s civil war.

Speakers will include:

• Tim Farron MP, Liberal Democrat Leader
• Natalie Bennett, Green Party Leader
• Ahmad Al Rashid, a Syrian refugee
• Rob Lawrie, a volunteer aid worker

About Camden Citizens

Camden Citizens is a grassroots group of people from across the borough, working together to campaign for more Syrian refugees to be resettled in our community.

We believe Camden has the capacity to accommodate 50 refugee families by 2020, and we are building a powerful network of individuals, organisations and institutions to help make this possible.

The Camden Welcomes Refugees event on 14 March is an opportunity for the community to come together to consider how we can provide housing, education, healthcare and support for families fleeing Syria’s brutal civil war.

On the eve of the fifth anniversary of the Syria conflict, this event marks an important moment to recognise the desperate situation many refugees face and pledge our support.

Camden Citizens is part of the Citizens UK Refugees Welcome campaign: www.refugees-welcome.org.uk
